Job Description
- Design and maintain enterprise-wide conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Define data architecture standards, integration patterns, and storage strategies.
- Balance normalized and dimensional data models to optimize operational integrity and analytical performance.
- Develop and maintain metadata repositories, data dictionaries, and lineage documentation.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to engineering and product teams.
- Lead modernization and refactoring initiatives for legacy data platforms and schemas.
- Drive data quality, consistency, scalability, and governance across the enterprise ecosystem.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline preferred.
- Professional certifications in Data Architecture, Cloud Platforms, or Database Technologies are advantageous.
- 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of focused experience in enterprise data modeling and architecture.
- Proven experience designing OLTP and OLAP data models for large-scale enterprise environments.
- Experience architecting cloud-native data platforms using Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar technologies.
- Hands-on experience leading data modernization and schema optimization initiatives.
- Experience collaborating with business, product, and engineering stakeholders to define data solutions.
- Expertise in Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modeling methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in Relational (OLTP) and Dimensional (OLAP) modeling techniques.
- Deep understanding of 3NF, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD).
- Knowledge of advanced modeling approaches such as Data Vault 2.0 and Wide-Column architectures.
- Expert-level experience with data modeling tools such as ER/Studio, Erwin, Lucidchart, or dbdocs.
- Advanced SQL expertise including query optimization, stored procedures, triggers, and performance tuning.
- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT architectures, data integration patterns, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience with indexing strategies, partitioning, execution plan analysis, and database optimization.
- Strong metadata management, data lineage, and data governance capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
